Manager - Infrastructure Grants Transactions

Closing Date 07/01/2025

A bit about the role...

Working in a dynamic and supportive team led by Nick Kelly, Head of Infrastructure Grant Transactions in the north you will play a critical role in developing our pipeline of transactions and supporting senior managers with the contracting process for grant funded residential development projects across the country. You will be part of our experienced Infrastructure Grant Transactions team, led by Duncan Innes, within the wider Infrastructure Funding team, headed by Pauline Schaffer, that is committed to making a positive impact across the Country by funding infrastructure delivery to unlock new homes and support growth and regeneration.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meeting housing need by unlocking homes through funding important infrastructure projects in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a multi-skilled professional team you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective progression of projects through approval stages and support in the agreement of grant funding agreements with partner organisations.

The Infrastructure Grants Transactions team is dedicated to delivering a considered and measured approach to projects, applying innovation and creativity to infrastructure grant issues. The team values diversity in experience and perspective in order to foster good decision making and problem solving.

The role will support the design and delivery of key strategic projects around England. There are some ambitious projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the infrastructure grant offering.

A bit about you…

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class service to our stakeholders and partners, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You'll be comfortable travelling and supporting the development of a pipeline of projects, working in close collaboration with other departments within Homes England and externally, supporting the preparation of business cases and approvals and assisting with contracting grant opportunities.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable engaging with external stakeholders and partners.  Your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an infrastructure grant transactions team. You will enjoy working across the Agency, be innovative, creative, fun and engaging and be able to negotiate and execute transactions.

As an experienced Surveyor, Planner or a similar professional with experience of residential or mixed use development, project viability and cashflows, cost analysis and deliverability you’ll understand how to collaborate with colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with partner organisations in a collaborative, inclusive way.

How? We form long-term partnerships that bridge the gap between the public and private sector to meet local needs and aspirations. We use our influence to champion the creation of sustainable homes, communities and places that are brilliantly designed for the people that live there now, and in the future. And we use our funding and support to build a more resilient, diverse and innovative housing sector, helping new entrants in the market, encouraging modern methods of construction and design, and promoting the utmost attention to building safety.
