Working in a team with Joel Dodd, within Portfolio Management, Investments Directorate, the Portfolio Manager will play a critical role in ensuring efficient delivery of homes on projects we support and recovery of our loans.
Working out of our Leeds office, you will be joining our experienced real estate finance team covering the North of England who manage a portfolio of loans to SME housing developers and are committed to making positive change in the number of homes built in England and recovering our investments.
Portfolio Management is delivery focused and dedicated to delivering first-class customer service, dealing with any issues informally wherever possible, taking an innovative and creative approach to resolving challenges that arise. Joel believes in working in a collaborative way and values diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision making and problem solving within his team.
This is a chance to shape the future of the housing market within England and develop a career in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose.
Working with key stakeholders and advisers as part of a professional real estate finance team you will ensure effective management of a portfolio of loans and efficient, consistent, and effective resolution of any issues arising. This will help increase housing supply in England and create a more balanced, diversified, and robust real estate sector.
The role will support the delivery of key housing projects in the North of England. This will require regular travel to visit housing sites and meet SME developers we support.
There are varied, exciting, projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the Homes England offering.
Whilst your day job is to manage a portfolio of loans to SME housing developers and deliver first class customer service to our borrowers and stakeholders, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.
You'll be highly motivated, well organised, task focused and have strong analytical and risk management skills. You will be proficient in the use of appropriate IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of our strategic priorities, risk appetite and the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a front-line team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun, and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
As an experienced real estate professional, you’ll understand how to manage and build relationships with colleagues and partners and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
