A bit about the role...

Working as one of four Heads of Financial Reporting and Accounting you will provide leadership and direction for a team of around 28 people.

There will be significant responsibility to ensure the Annual Report and Financial Statements, with a Balance Sheet of £20bn, are prepared on time, free from material misstatements and are given a clean audit opinion. You will also be responsible for making sure the team meets all other statutory reporting requirements. There will also be the opportunity to be involved in work to establish financial accounting and reporting processes for the new National Housing Bank.

You will be joining an enthusiastic, motivated team who have a range of skills to help our delivery colleagues realise the Agency's housing and regeneration ambitions. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver a new regeneration based programme in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key senior stakeholders and other professionals within Finance you will act as a trusted advisor to the business to both challenge proposals and provide consistent and robust financial advice.

A bit about you…

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders across the Agency, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate. You'll be comfortable supporting the Assistant Director of Financial Reporting and Accounting, for instance fielding complex accounting issues from other parts of the business, or attending and presenting to senior committees.  

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as Finance team. As an experienced finance professional you’ll understand how to manage and motivate colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

You will need to hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA.
