A bit about the role...

As the Government’s housing and regeneration agency, we exist to work with partners to support them in tackling housing challenges and enabling the delivery of new homes. The Data and Analytics Directorate plays a crucial role in this mission, providing the data, insights, and intelligence necessary to ensure the agency's efficiency and success in delivering existing business while generating new opportunities.

Our core mission is to empower the agency through robust data strategies and insightful analytics, helping to deliver on Homes England's strategic plan.

We are currently undertaking an ambitious data programme aimed at centralising our data onto an Azure data platform. This initiative involves close collaboration with data architects and data engineers to create a system that enables more efficient, scalable, re-usable, automated, and sustainable use of data.

We are committed to maintaining data integrity and fostering a data-driven culture where information is not merely a tool but a strategic asset that underpins our efforts to deliver better homes and places for those in need.

Joining the Data and Analytics Directorate means becoming part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team that is dedicated to making a tangible impact on the housing landscape of England. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about data, driven to solve complex challenges, and eager to contribute to the success of one of the nation’s most critical public agencies.

As a Lead Data Analyst you will both oversee and actively participate in the analysis and interpretation of complex data to support decision-making and strategy development. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into clear, data-driven recommendations, ensuring the accuracy and quality of data processes. You will be responsible for enhancing data processes, ensuring accuracy, and implementing best practices in data analysis and visualization.

A bit about you…

You are a forward-thinking and innovative Lead Data Analyst, capable of driving data analysis and reporting initiatives that enhance data-driven decision-making across the organization. With a strategic mindset and a deep understanding of data analysis, visualization, and architecture, you leverage your expertise to deliver impactful insights and solutions.

You have extensive experience managing a diverse range of stakeholders, and you excel at translating complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

You are resilient and adept at managing change, with the determination to see projects through to completion, even when faced with challenges. You view setbacks as opportunities to learn and continuously improve your work.

You have a proven track record of delivering successful data analysis initiatives that align with broader organizational strategies. Your collaborative approach allows you to work effectively with teams across the business, and you are skilled at managing expectations while fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.

Ideally you are experienced in leading and mentoring a small team of analysts, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and guidance needed to deliver high-quality data insights. You can provide a collaborative and supportive environment, encouraging continuous learning and growth, while setting clear expectations and driving the team towards achieving both individual and collective goals.
